Happy Birthday Dad!

And the count down continues, Dad turned 42 this year! (sort of...in actuality 58) This year we stayed local. It has been a long and pretty chilly winter, so we did not really get to go out and do much. Saturday evening the three of us went to Brussels Bistro. It was a great meal filled with mussels, fries, good wine and topped off with a nice plate of cheeses! On Sunday, the Oscars aired and so Mom and I decided to make lots of finger foods that Dad likes while we watched the awards show. It was fun, we had all sorts of chips, salsa, hummus, nuts, margherita pizza, buffalo wings, and california sushi roll . We went all out! And for dessert, lemon sorbet topped with chocolate, accompanied of course by a candle for a wish! It was a very mellow birthday celebration this year, but I hope Dad really enjoyed the time we spent together!

February Supper Club

This month Ashton hosted Supper Club. Being from Mississippi, she decided to do a Mardi Gras Party. She did a wonderful job with decorations!

We all had cute masks, and Ashton was the bartender making plent of free flowing Hurricanes. She prepared a feast of fried chicken, cornbread, fried okra, dirty rice, jambalaya, mashed potatoes and white rice. And for dessert, how could one forget, but a King's Cake delivered all the way from New Orleans. Yes there was indeed a baby tucked away inside.
