Mother's day this year was extra special! My grandmother was in town for 3 weeks. So for this uncommon event, I decided to do something special. And that was to cook a brunch for my mom and grandma. On the menu was; bread pudding, french toast, cajun hash brown, poached eggs atop a bed of arugula and prosciutto with a basil olive spread on a slice of toasted sourdough, and caramelized turkey bacon along with coffee and mimosas. It turned out fantastically!

Thanks Dad for all your help in the kitchen!

After the meal, the beautiful weather drew all of us to Huntington Beach to walk along Main Street and the Pier. Sure enough, many others had the same idea and that made for the entire afternoon to turn out even better than expected. From live swing music at the pier, to drinks at the brewery, the day was spent basking in the sun and enjoying life.
